Summary: Smart Media Manager organizes, cleans, encrypts and shares your media on your device. Your photos, videos, documents and the contents of the private vault are processed locally and are never uploaded. We do not require an account and do not collect your name, email, contacts, messages or files. To keep the app free, third-party services for ads (Google AdMob), notifications/analytics (Firebase) and in-app purchases (Google Play Billing) collect limited technical identifiers as described below. The optional Premium upgrade removes ads.
1 Information Collected by Third-Party SDKs
Google AdMob (Advertising)
Advertising ID, device information, ad-interaction events, and (for personalized ads) approximate location inferred from IP address. Used to show and measure ads. Shared with Google. Google Privacy Policy ↗

Google Play Billing (In-App Purchases)
Used to process the optional Premium purchase. Your payment is handled by Google Play; we receive only a purchase token / entitlement state and store a local "Premium" flag. We never see your card or full payment details. Google Privacy Policy ↗
All network communication uses encryption in transit (HTTPS). Data is shared with the respective providers only to operate ads, notifications, basic analytics and purchases.
2 Information Processed On-Device (Not Collected by Us)
The following are handled locally on your device for the app's features and are never transmitted to us or to any third party:
- Photos, videos, audio and documents scanned to build the media library, find duplicates and large files, and manage screenshots.
- On-device text recognition (OCR) via Google ML Kit's bundled, offline model — used for screenshot search, receipt extraction and AI organization. Images are read locally; no image or text leaves the device.
- WhatsApp / WhatsApp Business status files you choose to save — read through Android's Storage Access Framework with your explicit folder permission.
- The private vault — files you move in are encrypted on-device (see section 4).
- App preferences, favorites, collections, search history and the download list — stored locally with Jetpack DataStore.
- Local-folder backups and Wi‑Fi transfers — copied directly to a folder you choose or to another device on your own network; never to us.
3 Permissions
- Media access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / VIDEO / AUDIO, and selected-photos access on Android 14+): to scan, preview, organize, de-duplicate and clean your media. We do not request
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (all-files access).
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to show local progress for background media scans and to deliver push notifications. Optional — you can decline it.
- Internet & network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): to download links you paste through Android's system Download Manager, to transfer files between devices over your local Wi‑Fi, and to serve ads and process purchases.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads. You can reset or limit it in Android Settings.
- Biometric (USE_BIOMETRIC): to unlock the private vault and the optional app lock with your fingerprint / device credential.
4 Private Vault & Encryption
Files you add to the vault are encrypted on-device using AES-256-GCM with a hardware-backed key held in the Android Keystore. The key never leaves the device and is never exported. The encrypted vault is excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so its contents cannot be restored elsewhere.
5 Premium & In-App Purchases
Smart Media Manager is free and ad-supported. An optional one-time or subscription Premium upgrade removes ads and unlocks additional capability. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing; we store only a local entitlement flag and never receive your payment-card details. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play.
6 What We Do NOT Do
- We do not upload your photos, videos, documents, or any files to any server.
- We do not access private, login-protected accounts; status saving uses only files already on your device.
- We do not collect personal identifiers (name, email, phone, contacts) and we do not require an account.
- We do not sell your data.
7 Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8 Your Choices & Data Deletion
- Reset or limit your Advertising ID in Android Settings, and revoke notification permission at any time.
- Purchasing Premium removes ads and the associated ad-data collection.
- Your media, favorites, collections, history and the encrypted vault are stored locally — uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes them permanently. You can also clear the image cache and search history in Settings.
- To request deletion of any data associated with your device held by our SDK providers, email us and we will action it.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
