Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Ashoka Palace (customer app, package com.ashokpalace.eatery) and Ashoka Driver (delivery app, package com.ashokpalace.driver) collect and use information. These apps let customers browse the menu, place food orders for delivery or collection, pay, and track delivery, and let drivers accept and complete deliveries.

Your account

We collect your name and an email and/or phone number to create your account and send order updates. You browse the menu without an account; ordering requires sign-in.

Delivery & location

We use your delivery address and, only if you allow it, your device location to fill the address and show live delivery on a map. Drivers share GPS during active deliveries.

No ads, no selling

The apps show no advertising and we never sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers needed to run the service.

Information We Collect

Account information

  • Name, and an email address and/or mobile number you provide to create your account (at least one is required).
  • A password, which is stored only as a salted one-way hash — never in plain text.
  • Optional preferences such as dietary tags, spice level, and saved delivery addresses, and your loyalty points / tier.

Order and activity information

  • Your cart, orders, and order history (items, quantities, totals, fulfillment type, scheduled time, and the chosen payment method).
  • Delivery details — the delivery address you enter, and a one-time delivery PIN used to confirm hand-off to the driver.
  • Ratings and reviews (food and service) you choose to leave for an order.

Location information

  • Customer app: if you tap "Use current location," we read your device's GPS once to fill your delivery address. This is optional — you can type the address instead. We use map and routing services to display the delivery on a map.
  • Driver app: while a driver is on an active delivery (on shift), the app shares the driver's live GPS location with our service so the customer and the restaurant can track the delivery. This stops when the delivery is complete or the shift ends.

Device information

  • A push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you order updates. This is tied to your account, not used for advertising.

Payments

Orders are paid by cash on delivery/collection or with the driver's card machine on delivery, as selected at checkout. The apps do not process online card payments and do not collect or store your card or bank details. Where online card payment is later enabled, it will be handled by a dedicated payment provider and this policy will be updated.

How We Use Information

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To take, prepare, deliver, and track your orders, and to show order status and live delivery.
  • To send order-related notifications (received, preparing, on the way, delivered).
  • To operate loyalty points, promo codes, and your ratings/reviews.
  • To keep the service safe and reliable, and to comply with legal obligations.

How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only as needed to run the service:

  • The restaurant (Ashoka Palace) and our staff — receive your order, name, contact, and delivery address to prepare and fulfill it.
  • The assigned delivery driver — receives the order's delivery address, your name, and the delivery PIN needed to complete the hand-off, plus the driver's own live location for tracking.
  • Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Hosting, Cloud Functions/Run, and Firestore) — our service provider for push notifications and backend/data hosting. Data is processed under Google's Firebase Privacy and Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Maps Platform — used to display delivery maps and compute driving routes; it processes the addresses/coordinates involved in showing the map and route.
  • WhatsApp Business (optional) — if the store enables it, a new-order alert containing order details may be sent to the store's own WhatsApp number. This is a message to the business, not a sale of your data.

Traffic between the apps and our servers and these providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

Permissions

What We Do Not Collect

The apps do not collect your contacts, photos, videos, audio recordings, calendar, health or fitness data, or precise location for advertising. There is no advertising in the apps. We never see or store your card or bank details.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal/accounting requirements. Live driver location is kept only to operate the active delivery and is not used for advertising or profiling.

You can request access to or deletion of your account and associated data by emailing teraflopspeedapps@gmail.com. An administrator can also disable an account on request.

Security

Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes, traffic is encrypted in transit, and access to operational data is restricted to authorised staff. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a food-ordering service.

Children

The apps are intended for a general audience placing food orders and are not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the apps add features (for example, online card payments or SMS verification) or change data practices. The updated policy will show a new "Last updated" date.
